I Peter Homework: A Quick Summary

Peter’s first letter was written to the believers scattered around modern day turkey as they were undergoing difficult persecution. Many of the believers were beginning to doubt God, feeling is if they were abandoned. Peter wanted to encourage them that what they were experiencing was good. (4:1) He wanted to remind them of their identity that was found in Christ. They have been chosen, they are living stones, and they belong to God (2:4-12). He encourages them to persevere for we are called to be holy as God is holy. Remember that there is an enemy that is fighting against our great King and be mindful of him! Resist him and know that you are not alone in what you are experiencing. (5:8-9)
